2021 Summer Update

CHANGE TO WORTHINGTON POOLS DAILY OPERATIONS AND OPENING DATE

Changes in local and state governance regarding COVID-19 guidelines has allowed for a change in procedure for our opening plans for Worthington Pools. As protocols are changing, we are remaining committed to following CDC, state, and local governing policies as we prepare for the summer season.

In conjunction with these policies, we are happy to announce that we will be opening our doors on Wednesday, June 2nd, Thursday, June 3rd and Friday, June 4th for our member preview days. These three days allow for registered members to join us as we operate at reduced capacity, maintaining our original 300 guests with reserved time slot attendance. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, June 5th where we will open at 75% capacity for the summer season. Members will no longer be required to reserve time slots for a socially distanced POD (Personal Outdoor Distance space), yet there are distanced opportunities available as you feel comfortable.

We have also decided to extend our season through Friday, September 10th to afford our members a few extra days to enjoy the pool due to our postponed opening.

Our hours of operation will remain 11 am – 9 pm.

Postponing to this date allows ample time to minimize potential confusion with our new policies and procedures. This date also allows us to finalize improvements to our facility and implement imperative cleaning protocols. We are excited to reintroduce our facility to our members and guests.

Member Preview Days (Wednesday, June 2nd, Thursday, June 3rd and Friday, June 4th):

  • June 2-4 is reserved for our member-only preview days. Registered members will have access to the online reservation system up to two-days prior to reserve time and POD spaces. Patrons will be socially distanced as we operate at reduced capacity for these three days.

Grand Reopening (Saturday, June 5th):

  • We are excited to open our doors to the public for our grand opening on Saturday, June 5th. As a reminder, this date will welcome all guests regardless of membership status. The member preview days are reserved only for patrons who have purchased memberships.
  • POD and time reservations previously enforced will no longer be in effect beginning June 5th. 75% capacity will be instituted.
  • Splash Pad will be opened at a later date this season.

General Policy Updates:

  • As state and local orders are set to expire on June 2nd, we have decided to set the pool capacity at 75% when it opens to standard operations on Saturday, June 5th.
  • Social distancing – operating at a reduced capacity allows for members to socially distance as they feel comfortable.
  • Facial coverings – The county, city and state mandated mask orders have been lifted for fully vaccinated patrons. Therefore, we will be requesting staff, members and guests to adhere to the CDC published guidelines which state:
    • Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing themselves, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
    • If you are not fully vaccinated, the CDC recommends you continue to wear a mask ○ Anyone, regardless of your vaccine status, may wear a mask if you so choose. ○ Please refer to CDC guidelines for acceptable facial coverings.
      • https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/about-face-cov erings.html
  • Please only come to our facility if you are in good health. Do not use the facility if you have symptoms of COVID-19, crypto or other infectious diseases including upset stomach, diarrhea, open sores, coughing, fever, runny nose, loss of taste/smell or rash.
  • Staff will be conducting frequent cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.

The guidance provided to all Central Ohio cities has been to plan to operate based off of the ‘Responsible Restart Ohio Guidelines for Local and Public Pools and Aquatic Centers’ plan set forth by the CDC. Modifications to pool operations and programming are subject to change based on requirements and restrictions provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), and Franklin County Public Health (FCPH). Swim.Inc./Worthington Pools also reserves the right to modify policies and procedures based on evaluation of current operations.
After missing the summer season in 2020, we look forward to welcoming back the community and introducing our improved facility.
