Why do you serve on the Swim Inc Board? I started in aquatics as a swim instructor at a local YMCA. It was there that I realized the importance of learning how to swim and the role of water safety. With this experience, both of my daughters started in the pool at 18 months learning to be comfortable in and around water. They both fell in love with swimming and have been involved in competitive and recreational swim since 2010. I feel passionate that everyone should have access to quality recreational and competitive swimming and hope that my work on the board can ensure that for the community of Worthington. I am the proud parent of a Worthington Swim Club swimmer and Ashland University swimmer.

Marilyn Heid, Treasurer
Current Professional Position: Worthington Schools Food Service Employee, since 2021. We attempt to prep food and distribute it to anywhere from 250-500 students a day, in a limited time and with healthy choices. The best part of the job is interacting with the students on a daily basis. It's a bonus then to see them in the summer at the pool and a total reconnect!
Why do you serve on the Swim Inc Board? I grew up swimming competitively since the age of 7 in Dayton, Ohio. I remember swimming at the Kelly German Invite for many years. In high school and college, I taught swim lessons in the summer to many children and adults. I swam at Ohio State University and also began playing club water polo there. After graduating, I coached there for many years, both polo and master's swimming. I've continued to swim and have been swimming in the Thomas Worthington natatorium for over seven years. With past work positions and activities/hobbies, I have always worked with people. I want to make their experiences fulfilling, educational and positive. And fun! Because I do interact with the swimming public at the pool, both in winter and summer, I feel I have a good idea of what the public would like as well as what would really be enjoyable to make their summer memorable and exciting.I have also been involved as Buckeye Masters Swim Team Coach, Ohio State University Water Polo Club Head Coach, Worthington Food Pantry Volunteer, Worthington Library Volunteer, Worthington Youth Booster Coach, City of Westerville Schools, Special Education Instructor, and Winston-Salem YMCA, Assistant Adventure Camp Supervisor
