Worthington Water Polo

Open to athletes of all levels – beginners welcome! However, swimming experience is strongly encouraged. Beginners will learn the basic skills and techniques needed to play, while experienced players will refine techniques and practice advanced drills.

The program is for boys and girls in the spring and is independent from the Worthington Swim Club. Practices will include a combination of drills and scrimmages.

For those looking for competition, the Worthington Water Polo Club provides opportunities for athletes to compete in local and regional tournaments. Water Polo clinics are only for those looking to develop themselves as a better water polo player and does not include opportunities for competitions.

Club & Clinic Information

Water polo club will provide athletes differentiated instruction based on their level and playing experience. This will be determined during club practices and through conversation with coaching staff. Water Polo club is available to those ages 12 or older (or with coach permission). Tournament participation is optional and an extra cost.

Prior participation or experience with water polo clinics is preferred, but not required.

Spring 2026 Water Polo Club Registration Information

Dates & Times

April 8, 2026 - May 24, 2026

Wednesdays from 4pm - 8pm (4pm - 6pm or 6pm - 8pm)*

Sundays from 5pm - 8:30pm (5pm - 7pm or 7pm - 8:30pm)*

*Specific practice times will be determined based on player's level of experience and comfortability with the sport.

Fees

Worthington Resident: $250*

Non-Worthington Resident: $275*

*Those that also register for the Worthington Swim Club in Spring 2026 will receive a 50% discount on their registration for Worthington Water Polo Club.

USA Water Polo Membership

A bronze level membership (or higher) is required to participate in any club practices or tournaments. If you already have a USAWP membership, please email your member number to info@worthingtonpools.com upon registration.

Tournament Info

Athletes (12 years - 14 years) will learn basic technical skills like treading water, passing and shooting through a variety of drills, games and scrimmages. Water Polo is a high school sport at both Kilbourne and Thomas and this is a great opportunity to try the sport. No prior experience necessary, but athletes need to be able to swim at least one length of the pool unassisted.

Mondays & Wednesdays (Mar 9 - 29): 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Sundays (Mar 9 - 29): 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Fee: $125.
